Crane Hub Magazine - Issue 1

Where do you see opportunities for more women to become involved in the industry? I believe there are great opportunities for women in the crane industry, but the biggest opportunity, in my opinion lies with the younger generation. Teaching young girls how to build the skills they need to be successful in a construction environment. Many women have more book knowledge versus the understanding of how to use a wrench or how an engine works. Most boys are taught this from a young age, whereas women often are trying to catch up at a much older age when they decide to enter the field. - Becca Kroslak What advice would you give to women entering into the industry? My advice to would be to take in as much information as possible and if your stuck always ask for help, the lads have always helped me and gave me support when it’s needed. -Kelsey Binding What positive impact are you contributing to the industry or the greater construction community? We consider ourselves the professional matchmakers of the equipment industry. We focus on identifying and qualifying candidates to match not just the job, but also the company culture. We allow our clients to focus on what makes them profitable, while we assist in finding their next team member to fill a critical need that allows them to hit the ground running. We partner closely with both clients and candidates to align on industry trends, candidate pool expectations, and opportunity pipelines for strong partnerships. We are members of various industry associations, (AEM, SC&RA, AED, NAPA), which allows us to have our finger on the pulse of the industry and identify where we can bolster the industry and provide the most value. I serve on the AEM Workforce Development Committee, where I’m able to hear the unique challenges and opportunities from OEMs and offer 3rd party insights, ultimately, working on how we can overcome these obstacles together. - Kate Ziek Women in the Crane & Lift Industry
